The Marriage Vision Retreat Workbook

CREATING GOALS FOR YOUR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY

What is a marriage vision retreat?

A Marriage Vision Retreat is more than just a weekend getaway—it’s a life-changing experience that has transformed our marriage, our family, and our legacy. It’s where we have found clarity and alignment on what truly matters to us as a couple and family. It’s given us the tools to live with intention, to grow together, and to build a thriving, purpose-driven marriage and family.

As we’ve guided other couples through this retreat, they too have shared how radically it had improved the health of their marriages and families. That’s why we created a workbook—because we believe every couple deserves the opportunity to experience the same kind of growth, clarity, and joy we’ve found.

The Marriage Vision Retreat Workbook will provide a guided conversation for your Marriage Vision Retreat. It will guide you through 6 significant conversations that will provide opportunities to set meaningful goals for your marriage and will conclude with a clear action plan that you will track for the year. These 6 conversations include: Defining Reality, Creating a Family Mission Statement, Finances & Budget, Calendering Your Year, Defining Your Family Focus, and Preparing for Success.

what to expect from the workbook

Reflection & Clarity: You’ll take a deep dive into where you've been, where you are now, and where you want to go. This process will reveal what’s working well in your marriage and what needs attention.

Honest Conversations: You’ll tackle the tough but important topics—like finances, intimacy, and long-term goals—in a safe and supportive way. These discussions may feel challenging, but they will bring you closer and create a foundation of trust and understanding.

Goal-Setting & Alignment: Together, you’ll set intentional goals for the year that support your vision as a couple. You’ll align your actions with the direction you both desire to go.

Creating a Shared Mission: You’ll craft a powerful mission statement for your marriage—something that will keep you focused on what truly matters to both of you and to your family.

Practical Planning: You’ll take out a calendar and schedule your year together—booking vacations, trips, activities, and time for what really matters. This step ensures your vision stays a priority, not something that fades into the background of busy lives.

Our story

We are Zachary and Melissa Dunckley. We’ve been married for 16 wonderful years. We have four children: Zephaniah, Zoe, Zion, and Zander. Yup, all Z names (except Melissa)! We started doing our own Marriage Vision Retreat seven years ago. The impact was so significant to our marriage and family that we began leading an annual Marriage Vision Retreat for others. Each year, the response we receive from those who participate is so overwhelming that we wanted to make the content we take couples through available to all. We love hearing from those who’ve gone through the workbook themselves. Please email us how your marriage and family have been impacted by your Marriage Vision Retreat.
